Over the years, it has been the people at Nobis who are the one consistent love of my professional life. There’s nothing more inspiring to me than getting to work with people who love what they do, and dedicate themselves to achieving success.

As Nobis Group’s Vice President of Finance and a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, Janet is a cornerstone of the Nobis leadership team.

Janet expertly manages and optimizes financial operations, ensuring compliance with budgets and regulatory standards, while collaborating closely with the company’s executive, business management, business development, and project management teams. With over 35 years of experience at Nobis Group, Janet has a proven track record of improving financial performance and driving growth, notably serving as Financial Manager on a multitude of major federal contracts with the EPA and Army Corps of Engineers.

Beyond finance, Janet oversees the company’s IT infrastructure, aligning tech with business goals and strategy, and champions staff education on employee ownership and the benefits of working for an ESOP, as well as navigating their own personal financial journeys.

Janet’s dedication and passion have fueled the firm’s successful performance and growth and, as the first woman from Nobis to be named Vice President and to serve on the Board of Directors, Janet is an inspiration and role model to future leaders throughout the company in both administrative and technical roles.

Life Outside of Nobis

Janet enjoys life outside of Nobis spending time with great friends and family members. During the summer months, she is often found at the range honing her skills for her monthly Steel Challenge shooting competition. On Sundays from May to November, you can find her and her mom at the local American Legion enjoying a yummy breakfast. For the last 5 years, Janet has volunteered every Saturday from January to April for Granite United Way’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program filing taxes for low-income individuals and families. She also enjoys a good football game watching the Patriots with friends every Sunday.

I love listening, learning, and solving problems. I have a passion for coaching and mentoring staff to promote personal and professional growth. Working at Nobis has provided me with vast amounts of opportunity to learn, problem solve, coach, and mentor staff across the civil, environmental, and geotechnical teams. I challenge myself to learn something new every day and to share something with someone else every day.

As Vice President of Operations, Brett is a leader who is committed to leading by example. He engages staff, clients, and regulators, and listens to others regardless of their rank. Brett communicates efficiently and effectively to build relationships built on mutual trust and respect.

Over the past 20 years, in addition to his role as Vice President of Operations, Brett has spent most of his professional career as a project engineer and project manager, working on site/civil design and construction projects throughout New England. He is dedicated to actively engaging and understanding the personalities and goals of internal and external team members. Brett brings the teams together to find the best technical and financial solutions for Nobis’s clients. He is not afraid to try new opportunities and encourage others to do the same.

Life Outside of Nobis

Brett’s life out side of Nobis is busy with his wife, two sons, and two dogs, with always an event, appointment, or party to get to. He enjoys playing sports, skiing, hiking, swimming, paddle boarding, and biking with his family. Brett enjoys sitting by a campfire or in a kitchen sharing stories and laughter with family and friends. Brett advocates leaving your phone inside and going outside to enjoy nature. Whether that is doing yard work, splitting wood, shoveling snow, or building something new, disconnecting for a few hours can provide an astonishing amount of mental clarity. Brett participates in Nobis’s community involvement events year round and is always willing to lend a hand to his elderly neighbors.

We have great people and fantastic culture. To come to work each day knowing that you get to work with others who want to be there just like you do is amazing. The talented and dedicated professionals we have love what they do, and it shows. Nobis is an amazing team to be a part of.

Nobis Group employees are the company’s most valuable resource. As Director of Human Resources, Vicki’s role is to retain Nobis talent while also determining ways to attract and acquire new, additional talent to grow Nobis’s team. HR oversees the life cycle of employees beginning with recruitment and through their whole time of employment with the company; overseeing employee benefits, maintaining policies and procedures to ensure a safe, fair, and equitable work environment, motivating employees, and assisting with Nobis’s overall strategic goals.

Vicki’s expertise as an HR professional provides her the knowledge and skills necessary to go from working on a benefits renewal package, assisting an employee with a personal matter, to required reporting and compliance.

Life Outside of Nobis

Vicki loves music, getting together with her family, walking/hiking, reading, painting, and crafting. Vicki has been decorative painting for over 20 years and still loves it. In recent years, she has expanded her crafting to include a Cricut cutting machine to design apparel. Vicki regularly volunteers in Nobis’s community involvement events and also is involved with her local church and food pantry program.

Tim was named Director of State & Municipal Services due to his history of leadership, technical expertise, and his ability to collaborate with a diverse set of clients in both the public and private market. Aside from being challenged technically, I wanted to join an organization that I could help grow. Nobis has helped me achieve this through its employee ownership culture, which actualizes my contributions and provides value to my work.

As Director, Denis is responsible for overseeing Nobis’ Massachusetts-based Environmental Services group. He is responsible for assigning and managing group resources, project management, verifying that client expectations are met, and is the group’s liaison to Nobis’ senior management. Denis joined Nobis in 2001 to support Nobis’ growing federal client market, where he has worked on a variety of large Superfund Sites and currently serves as the Program Manager for one of Nobis’ contracts with the Environmental Protection Agency. During his time at Nobis, Denis has continued to hone his technical and management skills through his technical contributions to and management of many complex environmental investigation and remedial action projects.

Life Outside of Nobis

Denis is an avid freshwater and saltwater fisherman. He has competed in numerous tournaments, and qualified to represent the State of New Hampshire regionally. He serves on the board for his local fishing club affiliate of the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society. I love that I’m able to do high-level technical work here at Nobis. I get to support some really interesting projects with very unique technical challenges.

In addition to her role as Director, Jenny specializes in contaminant hydrogeology and, specifically, contaminant fate and transport. Having spent more than 10 years doing primarily field work, Jenny has an understanding of field logistics and where the data is coming from. On the regulatory side, she has a deep understanding of the federal CERCLA process, but has worn many hats and understands state regulations throughout New England.

Life Outside of Nobis

Jenny loves not only travelling, but planning trips and doing extensive research into each destination before she visits. At home, she enjoys playing a variety of board games with her family and participating in “Game Day” at her local comic book store. As a young professional, renewable energy was only a dream, and today technology and science have merged to change civilization as we know it. I wake up every day excited to work on projects that only a short while ago were considered science fiction.

Tony’s relentless desire to help clients accomplish their dream projects, and his ability to match Nobis’ people and services to his client’s needs is why Tony was chosen as Director of Project Development. As Director, he works with Nobis’ marketing team to implement the business development plan and develop relationships that will strengthen Nobis’ position within targeted market sectors. His personal mission is to create partnerships with clients, dedicating himself to ensuring that both their confidence and trust is built in Nobis by providing guidance and solutions that ultimately achieve their goals.

Throughout his career, Tony’s major area of interest has been the renewable energy market. He brings over 25 years of experience working with developers, elected officials, regulators, and contractors to create alternative energy solutions that not only achieve his clients’ goal-but also enhance entire communities. His passion led him to found American Energy Independence Company (AMENICO), a New Hampshire based firm that refines used cooking oils to create environmentally friendly renewable non-petroleum-based products.  He also co-founded Sustainable Refining, LLC, a manufacturer of 100% vegetable oil-based rust preventative and lubrication products.  As former Mayor of the City of Franklin, NH, Tony vigorously supported solar development in his community.  That support translated into the installation of multiple successful private solar projects and has transformed Franklin into “the solar capital” of New Hampshire.  In 2019 Clean Energy NH recognized Tony’s renewable energy advocacy by presenting him their “Clean Energy Champion” award.  He was also instrumental in achieving regulatory approval for Franklin’s Whitewater Park, the first riverbed altered whitewater feature park in New England.  Currently under construction, The New Hampshire Department of Business and Economic Affairs has forecasted that when complete the park will not only bring tens of thousands of whitewater enthusiasts to Franklin but will also significantly bolster local economies.

Life Outside of Nobis

Whether it’s hiking, snorkeling, aerobics or weight training, Tony tries to stay fit by incorporating physical activity into his daily routine. He enjoys spending time with his wife at their home in Florida, where he gets to go for morning swims in the Gulf of Mexico, and afternoon bicycle rides along the Venice Florida Canal. In addition to his leisure activities, Tony believes in public service, having served as a school board member, city councilor, and mayor in the City of Franklin, New Hampshire.

The culture at Nobis is my biggest draw. As cliché as it sounds, we truly are a family, and our work atmosphere is top-notch. Also, as a small company, we still have opportunities to work on big, complex projects that are technical and challenging.

As the Director of Project Development (MA), Jeff’s role is to build business across Nobis’ markets and accounts in Massachusetts. As a Senior Project Manager, he manages Federal, State, and commercial environmental assessment and cleanup projects.

Jeff started his career with Nobis by cutting his teeth as a field geologist and working his way up to Field Operations Lead, then Project Manager, and now Senior Project Manager. Jeff leads the firm’s Hazardous Materials Inspection group and Brownfields Action Team and is the Account Manager for our State/Municipal work in Massachusetts. The biggest project Jeff has worked on so far is the Olin Superfund Site in Wilmington, MA. The value that Jeff brings to our clients is being an efficient and cost-effective manager who can adjust on the fly to keep projects on task and on budget. Jeff has worked across all of Nobis’ markets and sectors and is familiar with clients’ needs for all aspects of the services the firm provides.

Life Outside of Nobis

Jeff is a speed junkie with a passion for motorsports. He has his pilot’s license and has raced motorcycles and sailboats. Jeff has also been in rock bands that have played throughout Boston, NYC, and Philadelphia. Currently, his passion is wake surfing with his family.

Jeff’s favorite type of community work is speaking at schools and organizations to promote environmental engineering. He has been a recurring speaker at his high school, Bishop Guertin’s Career Day and at the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Lowell.
