Landfills are highly regulated for good reason, protecting both the environment and public safety. As a result, they’re typically considered unusable for development. But projects like the Bedford Landfill Solar installation show how we can rethink these spaces and turn them into opportunities.
By placing a solar facility on otherwise restricted land, we’re creating a true win-win: generating clean, renewable energy without taking up valuable developable space.
This 1 megawatt solar project will help the Town of Bedford offset municipal energy costs while reducing its carbon footprint for the next 25+ years. While permitting a project like this is often a lengthy and complex process, our team worked collaboratively to move it forward efficiently and bring the benefits to the community sooner.
It was an honor to be part of this project with ReVision Energy and to see it recognized during Monday’s ceremony. If you missed it, you can watch the broadcast HERE.
